From the gravels and clays of Sauternes, Château Guiraud 2006 (65% Sémillon, 35% Sauvignon) is a sweet white wine with aromas of honey and candied orange. Aged in barrels, it combines silky texture and mineral freshness. To be enjoyed with foie gras or desserts, it can be kept for twenty years.
A pioneer among classified growths in biodynamics, this Bordeaux estate embodies the alliance between tradition and innovation at the heart of Sauternes.
- Terroir: Gravels, sands and clays of the Sauternes appellation, where the morning mist encourages noble rot and concentrates the aromas.
- Vinification: Aged in new oak barrels, with indigenous yeasts and a precise blend of Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc for a pure expression of the terroir.
Tasting Notes for Château Guiraud 2006
To the eye: A golden robe with amber hues, of silky and luminous density, like liquid honey caught in the light of autumn.
On the nose: First, notes of candied orange and acacia blossom, followed by hints of roasted apricot and nectarine, before a saline edge reminiscent of sea spray.
On the palate: An unctuous texture yet tautened by a lively acidity, where flavors of exotic fruits and a chalky minerality unfold, leading to a long and elegant finish.
Serve between 8 and 10°C in a white Bordeaux-style wine glass to release its full complexity.
