A historic Sauternes estate, rooted in the gravelly terroir of Bordeaux, where a legacy of viticultural excellence has been perpetuated since the 18th century.
- Terroir: Soils of gravel, sand and clay in the Sauternes appellation, shaping wines of unique minerality and concentration.
- Vinification: Aged in French oak barrels, with respect for indigenous yeasts and a pursuit of balance between richness and freshness.
Tasting notes for Château Guiraud Guiraud 2001
To the eye – A golden yellow robe with amber highlights, dense and luminous, revealing an unctuous texture from the very first glance.
On the nose – Aromas of candied fruits (apricot, orange peel), blended with notes of acacia honey, butterscotch and a saline touch reminiscent of sea spray.
On the palate – A silky attack, carried by a lively acidity that balances the sweetness, while a chalky minerality extends a long, taut finish where citrus notes and a hint of bitter orange linger.
Serve at 8–10°C in a Bordeaux-style white wine glass to bring out its full complexity.
