The Château Guiraud 1989, Premier Cru de Sauternes, is born on gravelly and clay-limestone soils. This sweet wine, made from Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc, offers honey, beeswax and candied citrus, balanced by a lively acidity. Perfect with foie gras or blue cheeses.
Nestled in the heart of Sauternes, this historic estate embodies the excellence of the Premiers Crus Classés, combining family tradition and mastery of the terroir.
- Terroir : Sandy gravels and clay-limestone soils, typical of the Sauternes appellation, conferring a distinctive minerality and aromatic complexity to the wines.
- Vinification : Rigorous selection of botrytised berries, aged in barrels for a pure and balanced expression, between sweetness and freshness.
Tasting Notes for Château Guiraud 1989
- To the eye : Golden robe with amber highlights, of an unctuous and brilliant texture, revealing a rare density for this vintage.
- On the nose : Enchanting aromas of beeswax and acacia honey, followed by notes of candied citrus, toasted bread and a saline touch, the signature of great Sauternes.
- On the palate : A silky attack, balanced by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, extended by a long and elegant finish, where gentle spices and candied fruits intertwine.
Serve between 8 and 10°C in a Bordeaux-style white wine glass, to release its full complexity.
