The Condrieu Vernillon 2019 from Domaine Jamet is born on the granite soils of Condrieu. From the parcels Vernon and Côte Chatillon, this Viognier aged in amphoras reveals a saline minerality and aromas of apricot and peach. The palate, ample and lively, balances richness and freshness. To be savoured until 2026, it pairs with lobster or poultry in cream sauce.
A family estate rooted in the steep hillsides of the Rhône Valley, where Viognier thrives on granite soils.
- Terroir: The parcels of Vernon and Côte Chatillon, in the Condrieu appellation, offer granite soils that sculpt the minerality and tension of the wines.
- Winemaking: Aging in terracotta amphoras to preserve the purity of the fruit and reveal a saline dimension, true to the estate's philosophy.
Tasting Notes for Domaine Jamet Condrieu Vernillon 2019
To the eye: A golden robe with pale reflections, of a silky and luminous texture, like a ray of sunlight captured in the glass.
On the nose: Generous aromas of ripe apricot and white peach intertwine with more exotic notes of mango and passion fruit, before a saline touch comes to balance this fruity palette.
On the palate: The attack is ample and almost unctuous, carried by a lively acidity that brings freshness and tension, while a chalky minerality extends the finish into a long persistence.
Serve at 10–12°C in a Burgundy-style white wine glass to bring out its nuances.
