The Côtes du Rhône Equivoque 2018 from Domaine Jamet is born on the schists of the Côtes du Rhône, on the edge of Côte-Rôtie. This 100% Syrah, aged 22 months in barrels, marries dark fruits, gentle spices and floral notes in a lively and mineral palate. To keep for 15 years or to enjoy with a leg of lamb.
A family estate rooted in the schists of the Rhône Valley, where the Syrah has expressed itself with rare precision for three generations.
- Terroir: Schists and granites of the Côtes du Rhône, in the shadow of the Côte-Rôtie slopes, lending a distinctive minerality.
- Vinification: Partial destemming and ageing in barrels for a structure that is both silky and taut.
Tasting notes for Domaine Jamet Côtes du Rhône Equivoque 2018
To the eye – A deep red robe with violet reflections, dense and luminous, hinting at a generous body and a chalky elegance.
On the nose – Aromas of wild blackberry and fresh blackcurrant, followed by a hint of violet, then gentle spices and a saline note reminiscent of the terroir's schists.
On the palate – A silky and vibrant texture, carried by a precise acidity and a persistent minerality, leaving a long, saline finish.
Serve at 15°C in a Burgundy-style red wine glass to release its nuances.
