Jamet Côte Rotie Côte Brune 2005
Born from the clay soils of the Côte Brune, the Côte-Rôtie 2005 from Domaine Jamet reveals a Syrah with notes of dark fruits, leather and pepper. Silky tannins and vibrant minerality make it a powerful and elegant wine, ideal for long aging. To be savoured with game or slow-cooked dishes.
Domaine Jamet
A family estate rooted in the steep slopes of the Côte-Rôtie, where the heritage has been passed down with exacting standards since the 1950s.
- Terroir: Dark clay soils, rich in iron, on the steep hillsides of the Côte Brune – a terroir that forges wines of character, mineral and deep.
- Vinification: Traditional and minimally interventionist methods, for a faithful expression of the Syrah grape variety and terroir.
Tasting notes for Domaine Jamet Côte-Rôtie Côte Brune 2005
To the eye: A garnet red robe with brick-red reflections, dense and slightly hazy, betraying an advanced but still vibrant maturity.
On the nose: Aromas of wild blackberry and blackcurrant mingle with more evolved notes of aged leather, liquorice and black pepper, lifted by a saline and mineral touch characteristic of the great northern terroirs.
On the palate: A silky and fleshy texture, carried by a lively acidity and chalky minerality, stretching into a long and elegant finish where nuances of tobacco and gentle spices emerge.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Burgundy-style red wine glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 2005
A sunny yet balanced vintage, where the summer heat allowed optimal ripeness of the grapes without sacrificing freshness.
- Aging potential: 15 to 20 years, to be stored under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity and away from light).
