L'Eau D'range L18 from Domaine Ganevat, grown on Liassic gray marl, is a distinctive orange wine. A blend of Chardonnay and Savagnin, with extended maceration and long aging in demi-muids, without additives. Generous, saline, and mineral, it pairs elegantly with rich dishes.
The fourteenth generation of a winemaking family rooted in La Combe de Rotalier, this family estate embodies a commitment to biodynamic cultivation of its Jura terroir.
- Terroir: 13 hectares of Liassic gray marl, where old Chardonnay and Savagnin vines draw chalky minerality and saline vibrancy from the soil.
- Winemaking: A radically natural method—native yeasts, extended maceration, and aging in demi-muids without intervention—for wines of rare purity and depth.
Tasting notes for Domaine Anne et Jean-François Ganevat L’Eau D’Range L18 2018
Appearance: Golden with amber highlights and a silky look, slightly hazy because it is unfiltered.
On the nose: Aromas of candied citrus zest, dried flowers, fresh walnut, and acacia honey, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of smoked tea.
On the palate: A generous, textured opening, with lively acidity and chalky minerality extending into a long, saline finish where sweet spice mingles with dried fruit.
Serve at 12–14°C in a wide-bowled white wine glass to bring out its complex nuances.
