Poulsard Les Chalasses 2023 Magnum comes from old Jura vines rooted in gray marl. This natural wine combines freshness and fine tannins with notes of red fruit and sweet spice. Enjoy through 2035 with roast meats and morel mushrooms.
A family estate rooted in the Jura hills, where winemaking heritage is passed down with rare dedication. Here, each cuvée celebrates terroir and the passage of time.
- Terroir : The vines take root in Rotalier’s gray marl, a chalky soil that gives the wines distinctive minerality and elegant tension.
- Winemaking : A natural, biodynamic approach in which indigenous yeasts and patient aging in large oak barrels preserve the purity of the fruit and the grape variety’s complexity.
Tasting notes for Domaine Jean-François Ganevat Poulsard Les Chalasses Vieilles Vignes 2023
Appearance – A cherry-red hue with silky translucence and ruby highlights that dance in the light.
On the nose – An airy bouquet of fresh red fruit (wild strawberries and tart redcurrants), a hint of rose petal and a subtle note of white pepper, all underpinned by saline minerality evocative of the Jura’s chalky subsoils.
On the palate – A velvety yet taut texture, where lively acidity and chalky minerality form a precise structure, while exceptionally fine tannins extend the finish with lingering saline and fruity notes.
Serve at 15°C in a medium-sized red wine glass to reveal its full purity.
