Tasting notes for the Domaine René et Vincent Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru La Forest 1998
To the eye – A golden robe with pale reflections, of a silky clarity, already betraying a mature elegance.
On the nose – Aromas of white blossom and candied lemon intertwine with deeper notes of undergrowth and anise, lifted by a saline touch, the signature of the Kimmeridgian terroir.
On the palate – A velvety, almost unctuous texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality that stretches into a long, taut finish, where a hint of acacia honey emerges.
Serve between 12 and 14°C in a white Burgundy-style wine glass to reveal its full complexity.
Vintage 1998
A vintage marked by balanced ripeness, where the mineral freshness of Chablis combines with a firm and expressive structure.
- Aging potential: This wine, already at its peak, can continue to improve for 5 to 10 years under ideal cellar conditions (stable temperature, away from light).
