Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Amoureuses 2021 by Joseph Drouhin: a Pinot Noir born on the limestone soils of Chambolle-Musigny. Aged in oak barrels, it offers aromas of raspberry, violet and truffle. Silky, mineral and fresh on the palate. To be enjoyed until 2041 with poultry or aged cheeses.
A family estate founded in 1880, rooted in Burgundy with a deep respect for terroir and a pursuit of timeless elegance.
- Terroir: Jurassic clay-limestone soils of the Côte de Nuits, on the sun-drenched slopes of Chambolle-Musigny, where Comblanchien limestone sculpts wines of chalky minerality and vibrant tension.- Vinification: Biodynamic methods, hand harvesting and ageing in French oak barrels (20-25% new) to preserve the purity of the Pinot Noir and reveal the subtlety of the Amoureuses climat.
To the eye: A deep ruby robe with cherry highlights, of a silky and luminous texture that already heralds a refined substance.
On the nose: Aromas of fresh raspberry and morello cherry intertwine with notes of faded rose, before giving way to a touch of undergrowth and a saline hint, the signature of the limestone terroir.
On the palate: A velvety attack, fine and tightly knit tannins, lively acidity carrying a chalky minerality – the tension is palpable, the finish long and persistent, marked by a taut elegance.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
A vintage marked by vibrant freshness, where the balance between ripeness and acidity gives birth to wines of remarkable precision.
- Ageing potential: To be kept until 2041 under optimal conditions (cool cellar, away from light and vibrations).
