The Joseph Drouhin Chambertin Clos de Bèze 2008, Grand Cru de Bourgogne, reveals a chalky terroir. This barrel-aged Pinot Noir captivates with notes of cherry, rose and spices. Silky, mineral and precise on the palate. Perfect until 2038 with red meats or cheeses.
A family estate founded in 1880, Domaine Joseph Drouhin embodies Burgundian excellence across four generations of expertise.
- Terroir: situated on the hillsides of the Côte de Nuits, the Gevrey-Chambertin vineyard rests on red clay and chalk soils, lending the wines their chalky minerality and characteristic tension.
- Vinification: aged in French oak barrels, with a measured proportion of new wood, to preserve the purity of the Pinot Noir and its elegant expression.
In the glass: deep garnet robe with ruby highlights, of a silky and dense texture.
On the nose: fresh raspberry, clove, dried rose and a hint of black cherry, lifted by a subtle chalky salinity.
On the palate: precise and taut attack, silky tannins, lively acidity and persistent minerality, leading to a long and vibrant finish.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Burgundy glass to reveal its full complexity.
A vintage marked by slow maturation and cool nights, yielding wines of great tension and refined elegance.
- Ageing potential: store for 15 to 20 years in a cool, humid cellar, away from light.
