Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2022 by Joseph Drouhin: a Pinot Noir from the clay-limestone soils of Vougeot. Aged in new barrels, it offers raspberry, cherry and undergrowth. Silky, mineral and fresh palate. Perfect with game or truffle, to be enjoyed from 2028.
A family estate founded in 1880, Joseph Drouhin embodies Burgundian excellence across four generations of expertise. Rooted at the heart of the Côte de Nuits, the estate combines respect for terroir with artisanal precision.
- Terroir: the vines of Clos de Vougeot, planted on clay-limestone soils, draw their minerality and depth from this mythical Grand Cru of Burgundy.
- Winemaking: ageing in partially new barrels, manual harvesting and extended maceration for an expression of Pinot Noir that is both silky and taut.
To the eye: a deep ruby robe with garnet highlights, of a dense and luminous texture.
On the nose: aromas of black cherry and fresh raspberry, followed by notes of violet and liquorice, with a saline and chalky touch in the background.
On the palate: a silky attack, precise and elegant tannins, lively acidity that carries a chalky minerality, a long and saline finish.
Serve between 16 and 18 °C in a Burgundy glass to reveal its complexity.
A vintage marked by early ripeness and a rare balance between concentration and freshness, ideal for wines intended for long ageing.
- Ageing potential: to be cellared until 2045 under optimal conditions (cool, humid cellar).
