From the clay-limestone soils of Beaune 1er Cru, the Les Aigrots 2005 from Domaine Michel Lafarge is a Pinot Noir with notes of cherries and plums, enhanced by barrel ageing. Fleshy and mineral, it pairs beautifully with meats and cheeses through 2028.
Domaine Michel Lafarge
A family estate rooted in Volnay, where Pinot Noir expresses itself with rare elegance, shaped by generations of expertise.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils of the Côte de Beaune, where the Premier Crus express a chalky minerality and a characteristic tension.
- Vinification: Traditional methods, barrel ageing for a pure expression of fruit and terroir, without artifice.

Tasting notes for Domaine Michel Lafarge Beaune 1er Cru Les Aigrots 2005
To the eye: Deep garnet robe with tawny highlights, of a silky and dense texture, revealing accomplished maturity.
On the nose: Aromas of candied black cherries and prunes, lifted by a hint of damp undergrowth, liquorice, and a subtle saline note, like an echo of the limestone soils.
On the palate: A generous and fleshy attack, carried by a lively acidity that balances the richness of the fruit, while a chalky minerality extends the finish into a long, elegant persistence.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Burgundy glass to fully release its complexity.
Vintage 2005
A sunny and structured vintage, where the summer heat ripened the grapes without compromising their freshness, yielding wines that are both powerful and balanced.
- Ageing potential: 10 to 15 years in a cool, humid cellar, away from temperature fluctuations.
