Latour 2000
The Château Latour 2000, a jewel of Pauillac, sourced from gravelly soils, marries blackcurrant, truffle and spices. Aged in barrels, it captivates with its silky tannins and mineral freshness. A wine for ageing (2030–2050), perfect with duck breast or aged cheeses.
Château Latour
A pillar of the Grands Crus Classés of Bordeaux, this legendary estate has embodied the excellence of the Pauillac terroir since the 17th century.
- Terroir: Deep gravels and clays on a limestone base – a unique soil that endows the wines with their mineral structure and elegant power.
- Vinification: Ageing in oak barrels, respect for natural cycles and precise blending for a pure expression of the vintage.
Tasting notes for Château Latour 2000
To the eye: A deep garnet red robe with brick-red reflections, dense and luminous, revealing a silky texture from the very first glance.
On the nose: Aromas of ripe blackcurrant, candied raspberry and violet evolve towards deeper notes of black truffle, cedar and a saline graphite touch.
On the palate: A precise and taut attack, velvety yet firm tannins, a lively acidity carrying a chalky minerality, and a finish of remarkable length, marked by soft spices.
Serve between 16 and 18°C in a Bordeaux glass to unlock its full complexity.
Vintage 2000
A sun-drenched and generous vintage, where the summer heat sculpted wines of rare ripeness, combining power and harmony.
- Ageing potential: At its peak today, this wine can still improve over the next 15 to 20 years, provided it is stored under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled hygrometry).
