The Château Mouton Rothschild 2001, Premier Cru Classé of Pauillac, is born on the gravelly soils of the Médoc. With 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, it reveals aromas of blackcurrant, smoke and spices, refined in barrels. Elegant palate, silky tannins. Perfect until 2030 with a roast lamb.
A historic pillar of Pauillac, this family estate has embodied Bordeaux excellence for generations, combining viticultural tradition and artistic boldness.
- Terroir : 82 hectares of stony gravel in the Pauillac appellation, where well-draining soils and the oceanic climate shape wines of rare precision.
- Vinification : A meticulous blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, aged 22 months in new oak barrels for a structure that is both powerful and silky.
Tasting notes for Château Mouton Rothschild 2001
To the eye – A garnet red color with brilliant reflections, dense and luminous, heralding a generous substance and a mineral elegance.
On the nose – First fresh notes of blueberry and blackcurrant, followed by a smoky touch and finely patinated leather, all lifted by a subtle chalky saltiness.
On the palate – A velvety yet taut texture, where the lively acidity and coated tannins balance in a mineral dance, for a long and refined finish, carried by an aromatic persistence.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
