Latour 1994
The Château Latour 1994, a jewel of Pauillac, blends Cabernet Sauvignon with 27% Merlot on gravelly soils. Nose of blackcurrant, walnut and smoky notes, a powerful and silky palate with firm tannins. Ideal for long aging (35–40 years), it pairs with braised meats and aged cheeses.
Château Latour
A pillar of the Premiers Grands Crus Classés, this legendary Pauillac estate has embodied Bordeaux excellence since the 18th century, combining tradition and precision.
- Terroir: Deep gravelly and clay-limestone soils of Pauillac, where Cabernet Sauvignon blossoms into a mineral and powerful expression.
- Winemaking: Aging in new oak barrels, absolute respect for the fruit and pursuit of a tannic structure of rare elegance.
Tasting notes for the wine Château Latour 1994
On the eye: Deep ruby robe with garnet highlights, of a silky density and crystalline brilliance.
On the nose: Aromas of ripe blackcurrant, wild blackberry and black cherry mingle with notes of toasted bread, cedar and a saline touch reminiscent of the iodine carried by Atlantic winds.
On the palate: A broad and fleshy attack, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, while the tannins, firm yet velvety, extend a finish of remarkable length.
Serve at 18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 1994
A vintage of early ripeness, where the mild autumn allowed the grapes to reach a rare concentration, while preserving a characteristic mineral freshness.
- Aging potential: 35 to 40 years under optimal conditions (cool cellar, away from light and vibrations).
