The Château Léoville Poyferré 1975, from Saint-Julien, embodies a gravelly and sandy terroir. This mature wine, with notes of plum, spices and caramel, offers a velvety and mineral palate. Ideal with a beef tenderloin or cheeses, it blossoms after decanting for a refined tasting experience.
Nestled at the heart of the Saint-Julien appellation, this family estate has embodied the excellence of the Grands Crus Classés of Bordeaux since 1855.
- Terroir : 80 hectares of gravelly and sandy soils, shaped by the Gironde, where Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and their companions ripen.
- Vinification : A tradition combining precision and patience, yielding structured wines of timeless elegance.
To the eye – A red robe with tawny reflections, of a silky density, upon which time has gracefully left its patina.
On the nose – First notes of candied plum and caramel, then accents of cedar, blonde tobacco and a saline touch, like a breath of undergrowth after the rain.
On the palate – A velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, stretching into a long and harmonious finish where sweetness and tension intertwine.
Serve at 15–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
A vintage where the ripeness of the fruit meets the depth of the tannins, offering a rare balance between power and finesse.
- Aging potential : At its peak today, this wine can still be kept for 5 to 10 years under optimal conditions (cool and humid cellar).
