Tasting notes for the wine Château Léoville Poyferré 1989
To the eye – A garnet red robe with tawny highlights, dense and silky, revealing accomplished maturity.
On the nose – First, notes of raspberry and fresh blackberry, then wafts of blond tobacco, black truffle, and roasted coffee, lifted by a subtle saline touch.
On the palate – A velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and chalky minerality, with melted tannins and a long finish that is both powerful and refined.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
