Tasting notes for Château Léoville Poyferré 2016
To the eye – Deep garnet robe with violet highlights, of a silky density and crystalline brilliance.
On the nose – Aromas of ripe blackcurrant and wild blackberry, lifted by hints of liquorice, spiced bread and a subtle chalky note reminiscent of the gravelly terroir.
On the palate – An ample and velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and a saline minerality, with silky tannins and an elegantly long finish, marked by a persistent freshness.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to fully release its aromas.
