The Gamay 2022 from Domaine Prieuré Roch, from the Côteaux Bourguignons, expresses the purity of Gamay on clay-limestone soils. Fresh and fruity, with floral notes, it offers a tender and mineral texture. Perfect for 2–3 years of aging, it pairs with white meats or cheeses.
Domaine Prieuré Roch
Nestled in the heart of Burgundy, this family estate embodies the union of a demanding winemaking heritage and a deep respect for the terroir.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone and marly soils of the Côteaux Bourguignons, where Gamay flourishes with a characteristic mineral freshness.
- Winemaking: Natural methods – whole clusters, indigenous yeasts and gentle extraction – for wines of vibrant purity.
Tasting notes for Domaine Prieuré Roch Côteaux Bourguignons Gamay 2022
Eye: A deep cherry red robe, silky and luminous in texture, like liquid velvet.
Nose: Aromas of fresh morello cherry and tangy raspberry, followed by notes of peony and white pepper, lifted by a saline and chalky touch.
Palate: A lively and precise attack, carried by taut acidity and chalky minerality, leading to a long and elegant finish where fruit mingles with a hint of licorice.
Serve between 12 and 14°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 2022
A vintage marked by early ripeness and a perfect balance between freshness and concentration, ideal for lovers of vibrant Gamay.
- Aging potential: To enjoy now or to keep for 3 to 5 years under optimal conditions (stable temperature, away from light).
