This Champagne Brut Nature 2011 from Domaine Prophète Yann, produced in Landreville, is a barrel-aged Chardonnay blanc de blancs. With no dosage, it reveals citrus notes, a saline touch and silky bubbles. Fresh and mineral, it pairs with seafood or cheese and can be enjoyed through 2030.
A family estate rooted in the chalky slopes of the Côte des Bar, where time shapes champagnes of rare precision.
- Terroir: Limestone soils in Landreville, in the Champagne AOC, where Chardonnay develops saline minerality and vibrant tension.
- Winemaking: Artisanal methods, extended aging on the lees and no dosage to reveal the purity of the fruit and the complexity of the terroir.
Tasting notes for Domaine Prophète Yann Yann Prophète Brut Nature 2011
Appearance – A pale gold color with green highlights and crystal clarity, crossed by a stream of fine, persistent bubbles like silk lace.
On the nose – First, notes of candied citrus (citron and pink grapefruit), followed by dried white flowers, toasted hazelnut and flint, all lifted by subtle iodine-tinged salinity.
On the palate – A silky yet taut texture, driven by lively acidity and chalky minerality, leading to a long, saline finish where toasted brioche and citrus zest aromas mingle.
Serve between 8 and 10 °C in a narrow champagne flute to preserve the freshness and finesse of the bubbles.
