The Benoît Lahaye Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature, from "Les Monts Ferrés" in the Côte des Blancs, is a precise and mineral champagne. Made from Chardonnay (1952), aged in barrels without dosage, it captivates with its freshness and citrus notes. Ideal with seafood, it can be kept for 5 to 8 years.
Nestled at the heart of the Montagne de Reims, this family estate embodies the demands of a living-respectful viticulture, guided by biodynamics for nearly three decades.
- Terroir: Vines rooted in the chalky soils of Bouzy and the Côte des Blancs, where the Chardonnay draws its legendary minerality.
- Winemaking: Oak barrel aging and malolactic fermentation for champagnes of vibrant purity, without artifice or dosage.
Tasting notes for Benoît Lahaye Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature
On the eye – A pale gold robe with green highlights, fine and persistent, where the bubbles rise in a silky and regular string.
On the nose – First notes of candied citrus (lime, pink grapefruit), followed by a touch of acacia blossom and toasted brioche, before revealing a subtle mineral salinity, like a sea breeze over chalk cliffs.
On the palate – The attack is lively and precise, carried by a taut acidity that stretches into a creamy and chalky texture, while the long and saline finish leaves an impression of purity and elegance.
Serve between 8 and 10°C in a narrow champagne flute to preserve the freshness of the aromas.
Non-vintage
A blend of the 2018 and 2019 vintages, this champagne embodies the balance between the solar ripeness of one and the mineral tension of the other, offering an immediate harmony while retaining an evolving potential.
- Aging potential: 5 to 8 years, to be kept in a cool cellar (12–14°C) and away from light.
