Champagne Leclerc Briant Les Chapottes Extra Brut 2019, a Blanc de Blancs from Mardeuil, embodies the chalky terroir of the Vallée de la Marne. Biodynamic with a low dosage, it reveals citrus aromas, saline minerality and a taut palate. Ideal with oysters or cheese through 2030.
An emblematic Épernay house, Leclerc Briant has cultivated a winemaking heritage since the 1950s in which biodynamics and respect for terroir shape champagnes of rare purity.
- Terroir: Chalky and clay-limestone soils of the Vallée de la Marne, a cradle of great Chardonnays, where each plot reveals a unique mineral identity.
- Winemaking: A plot-by-plot approach, without filtration or excessive dosage, produces taut, precise cuvées true to their origins.
Tasting notes for Leclerc Briant Chapottes Extra Brut 2019
Appearance: Pale gold with green highlights and silky clarity, like a veil of light over chalk.
On the nose: White flower and candied citrus aromas, followed by a hint of fresh hazelnut and a saline note evoking sea air and damp woodland.
On the palate: A vibrant, chalky texture, driven by lively acidity and persistent minerality, leads to a long, saline finish typical of the great terroirs of the Vallée de la Marne.
Serve between 10 and 12 °C in a champagne flute to preserve its tension and purity.
