Certified organic since 2014, the vines of Château Canon La Gaffelière average 50 years old and are planted at 5.500 vines per hectare. The blend is composed of 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Château Canon La Gaffelière offers a full-bodied wine displaying a smoky nose of blackcurrant, cherry and graphite. Its peaks is between 5 to 20 years, but can age further in great years, such as 2000. The second wine of Château Canon La Gaffelière "Côte Mignon La Gaffelière" is less powerful and lighter and can thus be drunk from 5 to 8 years. The Château Canon La Gaffelière often gathers flattering notes from international critics such as those of Robert Parker, between 90/100 and 95/100.
