Vincent Bouzereau, precise and consistent wines, in keeping with Burgundian tradition
Created in 1990, the Domaine Vincent Bouzereau is located in the Côte d'Or, in Burgundy. From a family of winegrowers, Vincent Bouzereau is the son of Pierre Bouzereau and the brother of Jean-Marie. To carry on the family tradition, Vincent Bouzereau and his wife Aline settled in the former priory of the Château de Meursault. The vineyard spans 11 hectares of vines planted with chardonnay, pinot noir and aligoté. Most of the plots of Domaine Bouzereau are located in the village of Meursault. The remainder of the Bouzereau vineyard is situated in the villages of Puligny, Monthélie, Auxey-Duresses, Volnay, Pommard, Beaune and on the hill of Corton.
The vine plants are propagated by massal selection and the domaine's current vines originate from pre-phylloxera selections. Harvesting is done by hand and winemaking follows traditional methods. The aging of white Burgundy wines lasts between 12 and 18 months and that of red Burgundy wines between 16 and 18 months before bottling. The style of Vincent Bouzereau's wines is precise and consistent. The Puligny Montrachet 1er cru Les Folatières cuvée, made from the Chardonnay grape variety, has a very mineral character due to limestone debris. It is an elegant wine of great purity that becomes more complex with age. The Volnay 1er cru Les Champans is one of the flagship cuvées of the Vincent Bouzereau estate. It is a great Volnay from two micro-plots located on the Volnay hillside. Displaying extreme precision and a deep red color with brilliant highlights, this wine releases aromas of small red fruits such as raspberry and morello cherry. The palate is silky and refined with a fine finish and remarkable tannins, promising a beautiful evolution. The Volnay village from Vincent Bouzereau presents a bright ruby color with aromas of violet, redcurrant and cherry. This wine has a delicate and nuanced concentration with a lovely freshness on the palate and a warm finish. The Meursault 1er cru Les Charmes expresses a fine volume with a beautiful, persistent palate. The Bourgogne rouge from Vincent Bouzereau is also very approachable and should be enjoyed within two years.
