Nestled in the heart of the prestigious Côte d'Or in Chassagne-Montrachet, Domaine Bachelet-Ramonet represents the legacy of four generations of winemakers. Today, Alain Bonnefoy and his wife run the family estate with passion, carrying on a centuries-old tradition of Burgundian viticulture.

Terroir, Vines and Winemaking

The estate's 13 hectares of vines thrive on an exceptional terroir, where rich limestone soils give the wines a distinctive identity. Committed to tradition and quality, the estate practices environmentally conscious viticulture to encourage the purest expression of the terroir. Careful, precise winemaking preserves the grapes' finesse and elegance, resulting in wines of classic style and remarkable quality.

The Estate's Cuvées

Domaine Bachelet-Ramonet offers a range of cuvées that capture the very essence of Chassagne-Montrachet. 

Among them, the premiers crus and the two grands crus stand out for their precise expression of terroir and perfect balance on the palate. The red wines, such as Chassagne-Montrachet premier cru Clos de la Boudriotte, charm with their finesse and elegance, while the whites, such as Chassagne-Montrachet La Grande Montagne 2021, offer the freshness and minerality characteristic of the terroir.

The estate thus produces two Burgundy grands crus: Batard Montrachet and Bienvenues Batard Montrachet. 

The estate also produces nine Burgundy premiers crus: Caillerets, Grandes Ruchottes, La Romanée, La Grande Montagne, Les Vergers, Morgeot (both white and red), Clos Saint Jean and Clos de la Boudriotte. 

Also produced are village-level Chassagne Montrachet (both white and red) and Puligny Montrachet Les Enseignères. Finally, they produce a regional-appellation Bourgogne Aligoté and a Bourgogne Côte d’Or. 

Chassagne Montrachet: Its Emblematic Estates and Best Vintages

Chassagne-Montrachet, an emblematic village of Burgundy's Côte de Beaune, is world-famous for its exceptional Chardonnay white wines and its Pinot Noir reds, produced across 300 hectares. While the south of the village produces excellent reds and a few premiers crus on limestone and marl soils, Chassagne-Montrachet is best known for its great white wines. Emblematic Grands Crus such as Le Montrachet and Bâtard Montrachet, which also extend into Puligny, and Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet, found exclusively in Chassagne, attest to the excellence of its terroirs. More mineral than the whites of Meursault, Chassagne-Montrachet white wines stand out for their elegance, buttery and biscuit notes, and aromas of dried fruit and spice. Among the region's most renowned producers are Ramonet, Fontaine Gagnard, Domaine Leflaive, Henri Germain, Hubert Lamy, Pierre Yves Colin Morey and Vincent Dancer, all of whom share a passion for quality and the authentic expression of Burgundian terroir. Each estate offers its own interpretation of Chassagne-Montrachet wines, giving enthusiasts a diversity of styles and flavors to discover and enjoy.
