The Bachelet-Ramonet estate, nestled in the heart of the prestigious Côte d'Or in Chassagne-Montrachet, represents a family heritage of four generations of winegrowers. Today, it is Alain Bonnefoy and his wife who passionately manage this family operation, thus perpetuating a centuries-old tradition of Burgundian viticulture.
The estate's 13 hectares of vines flourish on exceptional terroir, where the richness of the limestone soil gives the wines a unique identity. Committed to tradition and quality, the estate practices environmentally respectful viticulture, favoring the purest expression of terroir. The vinification, carried out with care and precision, preserves all the finesse and elegance of the grapes, resulting in wines of classic style and remarkable quality.
The Bachelet-Ramonet estate offers a range of cuvées representing the very essence of Chassagne-Montrachet.
Among them, the premiers crus and the two grands crus stand out for their precise expression of terroir and perfect balance on the palate. The red wines, such as the Chassagne-Montrachet premier cru Clos de la Boudriotte, seduce with their finesse and elegance, while the whites, such as the Chassagne-Montrachet La Grande Montagne 2021, offer a freshness and minerality characteristic of the terroir.
The estate thus produces 2 grand crus of Burgundy: Batard Montrachet and Bienvenues Batard Montrachet.
9 premiers crus of Burgundy are also produced: Caillerets, Grandes Ruchottes, La Romanée, La Grande Montagne, Les Vergers, Morgeot (in white and red), Clos Saint Jean and Clos de la Boudriotte.
Also the Village Chassagne Montrachet appellations (in white and red) and Puligny Montrachet Les Enseignères. Finally, they produce a Bourgogne Aligoté under regional appellation as well as a Bourgogne Côte d'Or.
Chassagne-Montrachet, an emblematic village of the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy, is world-renowned for its exceptional white wines made from the Chardonnay grape, as well as for its red wines crafted from Pinot Noir, across an area of 300 hectares. While the southern part of the village produces excellent red wines and several premiers crus on limestone and marl soils, it is the reputation of great white wines that dominates in Chassagne-Montrachet. The emblematic Grand Crus such as Le Montrachet and Bâtard Montrachet, which also extend to Puligny, as well as Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet, located exclusively in Chassagne, testify to the excellence of the terroirs. The white wines of Chassagne-Montrachet, more mineral than those of Meursault, are distinguished by their elegance, buttery and biscuity notes, as well as their aromas of dried fruits and spices. Among the most renowned producers in the region are Ramonet, Fontaine Gagnard, Domaine Leflaive, Henri Germain, Hubert Lamy, Pierre Yves Colin Morey and Vincent Dancer who all share the same passion for quality and authentic expression of Burgundian terroir. Each of these estates brings its own interpretation of Chassagne-Montrachet wines, thus offering enthusiasts a diversity of styles and flavors to discover and appreciate.
Among the finest vintages of Chassagne Montrachet, we can mention: 1953, 1959, 1969, 1971, 1978, 2005, 2019…
