The Pouilly Loché appellation, nestled in the heart of the Mâconnais in Burgundy, is a prestigious AOC dedicated to white wines made from Chardonnay. Extending over 32.14 hectares in the commune of Loché (Mâcon, Saône-et-Loire), this appellation, recognized since 1940, produces approximately 1,800 hectoliters per year. The vines, located at 200-250 meters altitude on an east-facing slope, benefit from a continental climate and varied soils: sandstone and schist in the north, ferruginous clay-limestone in the south. These unique terroirs give Pouilly Loché wines elegant minerality, with aromas of white fruits, citrus, flowers, and notes of dried fruits as they age. Renowned climats such as Les Mûres or Aux Barres, some classified as Premier Cru since 2024, reinforce the reputation of this appellation.
