The Cristal Roederer 2008 Late Release embodies the Grand Crus of Champagne. Blended with 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, it ages 13 years on the lees and 4 years under cork. Aromas of citrus and almond; saline, creamy palate with fine bubbles. Ideal until 2035 with scallops or grilled lobster.
An independent family house since 1833, Louis Roederer embodies Champagne excellence through a 242-hectare estate, predominantly classified Grand Cru.
- Terroir: Chalky and limestone soils of the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs, shaping wines of vibrant minerality and rare elegance.
- Vinification: Meticulous blending, extended ageing on the lees and respect for natural cycles, for cuvées of unmatched precision.
Tasting notes for Louis Roederer Cristal 2008 Late Release
To the eye: Golden robe with green highlights, of silky texture and crystalline brilliance, revealing a fine and persistent effervescence.
On the nose: Aromas of candied citrus (grapefruit, yellow lemon), evolving toward notes of grilled almond, roasted cocoa and fresh hazelnut, underlined by a chalky touch and a saline minerality.
On the palate: A lively and precise attack, carried by a taut acidity and a creamy texture, where delicate bubbles, subtle salinity and a long finish intertwine, marked by noble bitterness, hints of cedar and Havana tobacco.
Serve between 8 and 10°C in a champagne flute or a white wine glass to fully release its aromas.
