The Château d'Yquem 2011, Premier Cru Supérieur of Sauternes, blends Sémillon (80%) and Sauvignon Blanc (20%) on clay-gravelly soils. Notes of golden fruits – apricot, pear – and honey on the nose, a silky and lively, mineral palate. A wine for aging (until 2050), ideal with foie gras or Roquefort.

Tasting notes for Château d'Yquem 2011
To the eye – A golden robe with amber reflections, dense and luminous, like liquid honey captured in the glass, revealing a silky texture from the very first glance.
On the nose – An enchanting bouquet where golden apple and Williams pear intertwine, before candied apricot, roasted pineapple and a saline hint of orange blossom emerge, all underscored by a chalky minerality.
On the palate – A voluptuous attack, carried by a lively and taut acidity, where notes of candied lemon, acacia honey and vanilla unfold, leading to a finish of saline length and crystalline purity.
Serve at 8–10°C in a white Bordeaux-style wine glass to release the full complexity of this great sweet wine.
