The Château Clinet 2006, from the slopes of Pomerol, is a blend of Merlot (85%), Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged 18 months in oak barrels, it reveals notes of prune, liquorice and coffee. On the palate, silky and mineral, it can be enjoyed until 2042 alongside game or cheeses.
Nestled in the heart of Pomerol, this family estate embodies the exacting standards of an exceptional terroir, where each cuvée reflects the heritage of meticulous craftsmanship.
- Terroir: Gravelly and clay soils of Pomerol, lending the wines a full-bodied structure and distinctive minerality.
- Vinification: Parcel-by-parcel aging in French oak barrels, for precise, balanced wines of rare elegance.
Tasting notes for Château Clinet Clinet 2006
To the eye: A deep garnet red robe of silky density, where light reflects with a velvety intensity.
On the nose: First, aromas of black plum and wild blackberry, followed by hints of fresh truffle, soft liquorice, and a saline note reminiscent of the damp undergrowth of Pomerol.
On the palate: A smooth, unctuous texture, carried by a lively acidity and chalky minerality, stretching into a long, taut finish where roasted espresso and soft spices intertwine.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to fully release its expression.
