Tasting notes for Domaine Didier Dagueneau Sancerre Le Mont Damné 2011
To the eye – Pale gold robe with crystalline highlights, of an almost chalky clarity, as if carved from the light of the hillsides.
On the nose – Aromas of candied lemon and hawthorn blossom intertwine with notes of fine herbs and flint, lifted by a discreet yet persistent saline touch.
On the palate – Dense and silky texture, carried by a lively acidity and a saline minerality that stretches into a long, taut finish, like an echo of the limestone soils.
Serve between 11 and 12°C in a white Burgundy-style wine glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 2011
A vintage defined by balance, where cool nights preserved the tension of the Sauvignon Blanc while allowing optimal ripeness.
- Aging potential: Ready to drink now, with potential through 2022; store in a cool, dark place.
