From the chalky terroirs of Champagne, the Dom Pérignon Édition Spéciale Jean-Michel Basquiat 2015 blends Pinot Noir and Chardonnay (51%/49%). Notes of cocoa, linden and spices on the nose, a taut and silky palate with citrus flavours. Perfect until 2035, it pairs beautifully with turbot or scallops.
Born in the Abbey of Hautvillers, the house of Dom Pérignon embodies the alliance between the Benedictine heritage and the exacting standards of the great wines of Champagne. Its identity rests on an unceasing quest for balance, where each vintage celebrates the encounter between terroir and time.
- Terroir : The chalky hillsides of the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs, where Pinot Noir and Chardonnay draw their distinctive minerality.
- Vinification : A patient elaboration, where blending and ageing in the cellar reveal the tension and complexity characteristic of Dom Pérignon.
Tasting Notes for Dom Pérignon Édition Spéciale Jean-Michel Basquiat 2015
To the eye – A golden robe with green highlights, of silky clarity, where the fine and persistent bubble dances with elegance.
On the nose – First aromas of linden and jasmine, followed by deeper notes of roasted cocoa and peony, all underscored by a saline touch and a hint of anise and cardamom.
On the palate – A texture that is both creamy and taut, where the freshness of citrus and the sweetness of green papaya blend with the chalky minerality, for a long and precise finish, carried by hints of peach and nectarine.
Serve between 10 and 12 °C in a champagne flute or a large white wine glass to fully release its aromas.
Vintage 2015
A vintage marked by generous ripeness, where the summer heat sculpted grapes of rare concentration, while preserving a vibrant acidity.
- Ageing potential : To be kept until 2035, or beyond, in a cool cellar (12–14 °C) away from light.
