The Echezeaux Grand Cru Les Loachausses 2019 from Domaine Anne Gros reveals the soul of its brown, fossil-rich terroir. This Pinot Noir, aged in new oak barrels, combines dark fruits, undergrowth and spices with a velvety, mineral palate. Ideal through to 2030, it is sublime with game and aged cheeses.
A family estate rooted in the heart of Burgundy, where exacting standards and passion have been passed down through generations.
- Terroir: Brown soils rich in rocks and fossils, within the Echezeaux Grand Cru appellation, the birthplace of Pinot Noir of rare elegance.
- Winemaking: Traditional method, precise ageing in oak barrels, for wines where the purity of the fruit dialogues with the minerality of the terroir.
Tasting notes for Domaine Anne Gros Echezeaux Les Loachausses 2019
To the eye: A deep garnet red robe, of a silky and luminous texture, already revealing the density of the vintage.
On the nose: Aromas of black cherry and wild blackberry intertwine with notes of damp undergrowth, pot-pourri and a saline touch, like an echo of the vineyard's chalky soils.
On the palate: A lively and precise attack, carried by silky tannins and a mineral tension, before a long finish where soft spices and a hint of blonde tobacco express themselves.
Serve at 14–16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
