Champagne Douge Rosé Margot Extra Brut, made from Pinot Noir grown on Neuville-sur-Seine’s chalky soils, charms with its freshness and raspberry aromas. Aged 56 months on the lees, this precise, taut saignée rosé suits an aperitif or can be kept for 3 to 5 years.
A family estate rooted in the chalky slopes of the Côte des Bar, where Pinot Noir thrives beneath the skies of Champagne.
- Terroir: Limestone and clay-limestone soils of Neuville-sur-Seine, home to a Champagne AOC where minerality meets freshness.
- Winemaking: Artisanal and plot-by-plot, combining saignée rosé and blending to produce taut cuvées without artifice.
Tasting notes for Champagne Douge Rosé Margot Extra Brut
To the eye: A rosé hue with salmon highlights, silky and luminous like a peony petal resting on crystal.
On the nose: Fresh raspberry and wild strawberry, followed by a touch of raspberry ice cream, then a saline, chalky hint evocative of damp woodland after a storm.
On the palate: A lively, precise opening supported by taut acidity and chalky minerality, leading to an elegantly long, saline and slightly tannic finish.
Serve between 8 and 10°C in a champagne flute or white wine glass to reveal its full purity.
Non-vintage (2019 base)
A non-vintage blend in which the 2019 base brings fruity ripeness balanced by the freshness of reserve wines.
- Aging potential: 5 to 8 years; store in a cool cellar (12–14°C) away from light.
