Chemin du Bois 2018 (R. Pouillon & Fils), Blanc de Noirs Extra-Brut from Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, is a Pinot Noir grown biodynamically on clay-limestone soil. With no added sugar, it reveals notes of stone fruits and brioche. – Palate: mineral and lively. Ideal with lobster or cheeses, to be enjoyed by 2030.
A family estate rooted in the hillsides of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, where respect for the terroir and natural methods shapes exceptional Champagnes.
- Terroir : Clay-limestone soils of the Vallée de la Marne, the cradle of Pinot Noir, where chalk and clay impart minerality and structure.
- Vinification : No added sugar, spontaneous fermentation in oak barrels, and patient aging to reveal the purity of the fruit and the complexity of the terroir.
Tasting notes for R. Pouillon & Fils Chemin du Bois 2018
To the eye – A golden robe with coppery reflections, of a silky texture and crystalline brilliance, like a glint of chalk in the light.
On the nose – First, fresh aromas of crunchy red apple and morello cherry, followed by deeper notes of roasted hazelnut and golden brioche, all lifted by a saline touch reminiscent of sea spray.
On the palate – A lively and precise attack, where mineral tension blends with a smooth texture, carried by an elegant acidity and a long, chalky finish with accents of stone fruits and gentle spices.
Serve between 8 and 10°C in a wide-mouthed champagne flute to release its complex aromas.

A vintage marked by optimal grape ripeness, offering balance and concentration for a Champagne that is both powerful and refined.
