The Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Champ Gain 2023 from Domaine François Carillon, a Chardonnay on clay-limestone soil, marries minerality and finesse. Aged in barrels (22% new), it reveals notes of lemon and pear. The palate, silky and precise, captivates with its freshness. To be enjoyed from 2028.
Nestled in the heart of Puligny-Montrachet, this family estate perpetuates a viticultural heritage where precision and respect for the terroir guide every vintage.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils of the Côte de Beaune, cradle of the great Chardonnays — a chalky minerality that expresses itself with elegance.
- Vinification: Ageing in oak barrels, with a measured proportion of new wood, for a tension between fruity purity and silky structure.
Eye: Golden robe with green highlights, of crystalline clarity and an unctuous texture.
Nose: Aromas of fresh lime, ripe Williams pear, white peach and acacia, lifted by a saline touch and a discreet mineral essence.
Palate: A lively and precise attack, carried by a taut acidity and a chalky minerality, before a long and silky finish where freshness and depth intertwine.
Serve between 12 and 14°C in a Burgundy glass to reveal its full complexity.
A vintage marked by balanced ripeness, where freshness and concentration respond to each other in harmony.
- Ageing potential: To be kept until 2034 under optimal conditions (stable temperature, away from light).
