The Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Cras 2018 from Domaine Georges Roumier embodies the finesse of the great Burgundies. This Pinot Noir, with notes of red fruits and spices, offers a silky and mineral palate. Ideal until 2045, it pairs beautifully with feathered game or duck.
Domaine Georges Roumier
A family estate rooted in the hillsides of Chambolle-Musigny, where the Burgundian heritage has been passed down with exacting standards for nearly a century.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils and marls from the Premier Cru Les Cras, in the Côte de Nuits, shaping wines of chalky minerality and rare elegance.
- Winemaking: Aging in oak barrels, respect for natural cycles and a pursuit of pure Pinot Noir expression, without artifice.
Tasting notes for Domaine Georges Roumier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Cras 2018
To the eye – A deep ruby robe with garnet reflections, of a silky texture and crystalline clarity, heralding a wine that is both dense and ethereal.
On the nose – First aromas of black cherry and fresh raspberry, followed by notes of violet and damp undergrowth, before giving way to a saline touch and a hint of gentle liquorice.
On the palate – A velvety attack, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, stretching into a long and taut finish, where gentle spices and tannins of great finesse intertwine.
Serve between 14 and 16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full aromatic complexity.
Vintage 2018
A generous and balanced vintage, where the summer heat ripened the grapes without compromising the characteristic freshness of Chambolle-Musigny.
- Aging potential: To be enjoyed until 2045, provided it is kept in a cool cellar (12–14°C) away from light.
