From the clay-limestone soils of Ruchottes-Chambertin, this 2005 from Domaine Georges Roumier offers notes of cherry, spices and undergrowth. Vinified with little new oak, this Pinot Noir combines fine tannins and lively acidity. Perfect until 2051, it is sublime with duck breast or cheeses.

Tasting notes for Domaine Georges Roumier Ruchottes-Chambertin 2005
To the eye – A deep ruby robe, of silky density, where light dances with an almost chalky intensity.
On the nose – A precise bouquet where tart black cherry, fresh violet, notes of damp undergrowth and a saline touch intertwine, like a wet stone under the sun.
On the palate – A velvety texture, carried by a taut acidity and vibrant minerality, while fine tannins envelop a long, saline finish of persistent elegance.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Burgundy glass to reveal its full complexity.

A vintage defined by perfect ripeness and a remarkable tannic structure, offering a rare balance between power and finesse.
