Drawn from the schist and granite soils of Côte-Rôtie, the Domaine Jamet 2022 is a whole-bunch fermented Syrah. Dark fruit, violet and spice mingle with notes of iodine. The palate, dense and fresh, reveals fine tannins and a beautiful tension. Perfect with grilled meats from 2026.
Domaine Jamet
A family estate rooted in the steep hillsides of Côte-Rôtie, where schist and granite shape Syrah wines of rare precision.
- Terroir: 25 plots across 17 named sites, between the schist soils of Côte Brune and the granite of Côte Blonde, for a mineral and elegant expression.
- Vinification: whole-bunch fermentation, respect for natural cycles, and a pursuit of invigorating tension.
Tasting notes for the wine Domaine Jamet Côte-Rôtie 2022
To the eye: a deep purple robe with violet hues, dense and silky.
On the nose: aromas of wild blackberry and fresh violet intertwine with notes of iodine, graphite and gentle spice, carried by a saline touch evoking the winds of the Rhône.
On the palate: a fleshy yet taut texture, where fine, chalky tannins embrace a vibrant acidity, giving way to a long and saline finish marked by nuances of plum and lavender.
Serve between 16 and 18°C, in a Burgundy-style red wine glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 2022
A vintage marked by heat and drought, where whole-bunch fermentation was able to preserve freshness and balance.
- Ageing potential: 15 to 20 years, to be stored under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity).
