Cuvée Abyss 2018 from Leclerc Briant, a Brut Nature champagne, comes from Champagne’s chalky terroirs. A blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, it spends 12 months submerged 60 meters beneath the Atlantic. Fine bubbles, saline minerality and aromas of yellow apple and sea spray. A taut palate and iodine-tinged finish make it ideal with seafood or raw fish.

Tasting notes for Leclerc Briant Cuvée Abyss 2018
– Appearance : Luminous pale gold in color, with straw-yellow highlights and fine bubbles that dance with silky persistence, revealing a texture both airy and precise.
– On the nose : Initially fresh and fruity—crisp yellow apple, lemon zest and white peach—then opening onto deeper nuances of sea spray, wild mint and a saline touch evocative of wave-battered cliffs.
– On the palate : A lively, taut opening, driven by crystalline acidity and chalky minerality, while a creamy mousse envelops the palate; the long, iodine-tinged finish leaves an impression of elegant bitterness and lingering salinity.
Serve at 8–10°C in a tall flute or a wide champagne glass to fully release its aromas.

A vintage marked by generous ripeness and preserved acidity, offering a balance suited to underwater aging.
- Aging potential : Store for 5 to 8 years in a cool cellar (12–14°C) away from light to allow its mineral and saline complexity to develop.
