The Nuits-Saint-Georges 2020 from Méo-Camuzet, born on the clay-limestone soils of Burgundy, reveals an elegant Pinot Noir. Aged in barrels, it offers notes of cherries, red berries and gentle spices. On the palate, roundness and mineral freshness combine with silky tannins. To be enjoyed now or cellared for 5 to 8 years, it pairs beautifully with red meats and cheeses.
Nestled in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, this family estate embodies the alliance between Burgundian tradition and contemporary exigence. Two generations of expertise engage in dialogue, crafting wines where the terroir speaks with precision.
- Terroir : The vines, rooted in the clay-limestone soils of Nuits-Saint-Georges, draw their character from a temperate climate, between the freshness of northerly winds and the warmth of sun-exposed slopes.
- Vinification : A respectful approach – long maceration, aging in French oak barrels – to reveal the purity of Pinot Noir, between mineral tension and fruity velvetiness.
Tasting notes for Méo-Camuzet Frère & Sœurs Nuits-Saint-Georges 2020
- To the eye : A deep ruby robe with garnet highlights, of silky density, like a liquid velvet capturing the light.
- On the nose : First aromas of morello cherry and wild blackberry, followed by notes of peony and violet, before a touch of liquorice and undergrowth reveals the chalky minerality of the terroir.
- On the palate : A lively and precise attack, where powdery tannins envelop a core of ripe red fruits, carried by a taut acidity and a long, elegant, saline finish.
Serve between 14 and 16°C, in a Burgundy glass to release its complex aromas.
2020 Vintage
A vintage marked by early ripeness and natural concentration, yielding wines that are both generous and structured, where the balance between freshness and richness expresses itself harmoniously.
- Aging potential : To be enjoyed now for its vibrant fruit, or cellared for 8 to 10 years in a cool cellar (12–14°C) away from light.
