The Michel Niellon Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Maltroie 2024 Rouge expresses Pinot Noir on clay-limestone soils. Aged in oak barrels, it reveals aromas of red fruits and spices, an elegant palate and a mineral finish. An ideal pairing with game or poultry, it will improve over 5 to 10 years.
A family estate rooted in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, where respect for the terroir has guided every gesture for generations.
- Terroir : Clay-limestone and marl soils in the Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru appellation, shaping wines of chalky minerality and rare elegance.
- Vinification : Hand harvest, ageing in French oak barrels (15–30% new) and fermentation with indigenous yeasts to preserve the purity of the fruit and the tension of the Pinot Noir.
To the eye: A deep ruby robe with garnet highlights, of a silky and luminous texture.
On the nose: Aromas of black cherry and morello cherry intertwine with notes of violet and liquorice, lifted by a mineral hint of flint and a saline touch.
On the palate: A lively, precise attack, carried by silky tannins and taut acidity, while the chalky minerality draws a long, saline finish.
Serve at 14–16°C in a Burgundy glass to reveal its full complexity.
A vintage marked by balanced ripeness, where freshness and concentration harmonize beautifully.
- Aging potential : Cellar for 8 to 12 years in a cool cellar (12–14°C) and away from light, to allow its elegant structure to fully develop.
