Tasting notes for Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 1998
To the eye – A garnet red robe with tile-like reflections, of a silky density and a subtly velvety brilliance.
On the nose – First, fresh notes of black cherry and blackcurrant, then deeper accents of light tobacco, cedar and a mineral hint of graphite.
On the palate – A broad yet taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, with a long and saline finish, where tannins of rare elegance unfold.
Serve between 16 and 18°C, in a Bordeaux glass to reveal its full complexity.

A vintage where the maturity of the grapes offered a perfect balance between concentration and finesse, typical of great Pauillac wines.
- Aging potential: To be enjoyed until 2028–2030, stored in a cool and humid cellar, away from light.
