The Château Lafite Rothschild 2011, Premier Grand Cru Classé from Pauillac, born on deep gravels. 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot, aged 20 months in new barrels. Nose: dark fruits, spices, minerality. Balanced palate, silky tannins, persistent freshness. Perfect for 15–20 years with red meats or aged cheeses.
A legendary estate rooted in the gravels of Pauillac, where the Rothschild heritage blends with a tireless quest for elegance.
- Terroir : Soils of deep gravels and fine sands, resting on a limestone subsoil, shape wines of remarkable minerality and tension, typical of the Pauillac appellation.
- Vinification : A patient aging in new barrels, a rigorous selection of plots and a vinification in wooden and stainless steel vats to preserve the purity of the fruit and the complexity of the terroir.
Tasting notes for Château Lafite Rothschild 2011
To the eye – A deep red robe with garnet reflections, dense and silky, like a liquid velvet already hinting at the richness of this great Pauillac.
On the nose – A bouquet of great precision, where ripe red fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry) mingle with a touch of fresh boxwood, gentle spices (liquorice, black pepper) and a subtle mineral note, almost saline, reminiscent of the gravels of the terroir.
On the palate – A texture that is both unctuous and taut, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, stretching into a long, harmonious finish where aromas of dark fruits and roasted spices unfold.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
