Sourced from the Kimmeridgian soils of Bochot, the Champagne Pierre Gerbais Pinot Meunier Extra Brut offers freshness and complexity. Vinified in stainless steel, aged 36 months on lees, it reveals notes of peach and citrus, with an elegant minerality. Ideal with seafood or poultry, to be kept 3 to 5 years.
A family estate rooted in the Côte des Bar, where time sculpts Champagnes of rare authenticity.
- Terroir: Kimmeridgian soils of Celles-sur-Ource, the cradle of a rare Pinot Meunier, shaped by a continental climate and west-facing hillsides.
- Vinification: A sustainable method, a marriage of technical precision and patience – extended aging, perpetual solera and minimalist dosage to reveal the purity of the fruit.
Tasting notes for Pierre Gerbais Bochot Pinot Meunier Extra Brut
To the eye – A pale gold robe with green highlights, of silky clarity, where the fine and persistent bubble dances with elegance.
On the nose – First the bright freshness of candied citrus and white peach, then deeper notes of morello cherry and hawthorn blossom, before a saline touch underlines the chalky minerality of the terroir.
On the palate – A frank and taut attack, where precise acidity wraps around a velvety texture, carried by aromas of tart red fruits and a long finish, marked by a delicate salinity and a mineral persistence.
Serve between 8 and 10°C in a tall flute or a white wine glass to enhance its complexity.
Non-vintage
A cuvée assembled with precision, where the 2016 to 2018 vintages blend into a timeless harmony, revealing the consistency of a terroir and a know-how.
- Aging potential: 5 to 8 years, to be stored in a cool place (12–14°C) away from light, to allow its complexity to fully develop.
