Domaine François Raveneau Chablis Grand Cru Valmur 2003: a white wine from the clay-limestone soils of Valmur. Vinified in barrels, it offers a saline minerality, citrus notes, and a precise palate. Perfect with seafood, it can age for 5 to 8 years.

A pillar of Chablis, this family estate embodies the alliance between Burgundian tradition and viticultural excellence. For generations, it has crafted wines of rare precision, rooted in the limestone hillsides of the region.
- Terroir : The vines are rooted in the chalky soils of the Chablis Grand Cru appellation, where the Valmur climate, bathed in light, reveals a unique minerality.
- Vinification : Controlled yields, ageing in used oak barrels, and patience are the pillars of a vinification that prioritizes purity and tension.
Tasting notes for Domaine François Raveneau Chablis Grand Cru Valmur 2003
- To the eye : Golden robe with pale highlights, of a silky clarity, betraying a harmonious maturity and an almost chalky texture.
- On the nose : First, notes of candied citrus – lime and grapefruit – giving way to hints of flint, acacia honey, and a saline touch, the signature of the great Chablis terroirs.
- On the palate : The attack is lively, carried by a taut acidity and a sharp minerality, while the substance, dense and elegant, stretches into a long finish marked by hints of toasted hazelnut and a touch of chalk.
Serve between 12 and 14°C in a large, wide-bowled white Burgundy glass to release the full aromatic complexity.
2003 Vintage
A warm and early vintage, in which the ripeness of the grapes concentrated the aromas while preserving a vibrant acidity, characteristic of the great Chablis wines.
- Ageing potential : At its peak today, this wine can still improve over the next 5 to 10 years, provided it is kept under optimal conditions – a cool cellar, away from light and temperature variations.
