From the hills of Bandol, La Tourtine 2023 by Domaine Tempier is a red in which Mourvèdre (85%) shows its elegance. Aged 18 months in large oak casks, it combines blackberry, spice and herbs with a fresh palate. Ideal for extended aging, it pairs with braised dishes and aged cheeses.
An emblematic estate of the Bandol appellation, rooted in the Provençal hills, where Mourvèdre reveals its full power and elegance.
- Terroir: Santonian sandstone and marl soils, swept by the Mistral, provide optimal sun exposure for wines of great depth.
- Winemaking: Hand-harvesting, fermentation in concrete tanks and aging in large oak casks preserve the purity of the fruit and the tannic structure.
Tasting notes for Domaine Tempier Bandol La Tourtine 2023
Appearance: Deep red with garnet highlights, dense and silky, revealing generous body and excellent ripeness.
Nose: Aromas of wild blackberry and black cherry intertwine with dried herbs, licorice and an almost saline mineral touch.
Palate: A velvety texture supported by ripe, well-integrated tannins and lively acidity that brings tension, followed by a long finish marked by sweet spices and chalky minerality.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux-style red wine glass to bring out its full complexity.
