The Thomas Morey Chassagne-Montrachet Vieilles Vignes 2023 rouge reveals the chalky soils of the appellation. This Pinot Noir, with aromas of red berries and violets, is aged for 15 months in barrels. Silky tannins, lively acidity: ideal with game or cheeses, to be kept for 5 to 8 years.
A family estate rooted at the heart of the Côte de Beaune, where respect for the terroir has guided every gesture for generations.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone and marly soils of Chassagne-Montrachet, where Pinot Noir expresses itself with a chalky minerality and a rare elegance.
- Vinification: Hand harvesting, spontaneous fermentation and barrel ageing for precise, taut wines of great purity.
In the glass: Translucent ruby robe with a silky brilliance that hints at a lively and refined texture.
On the nose: Aromas of ripe cherries and red plums, lifted by notes of fresh violets, damp undergrowth and a saline hint of crushed stone.
On the palate: A fleshy and graceful texture, carried by a taut acidity and silky tannins, with a mineral finish and a chalky length.
Serve at 14–16 °C in a Burgundy glass to reveal its full complexity.
A vintage marked by balanced ripeness, where the cool nights preserved the tension and precision of the fruit.
- Ageing potential: 8 to 12 years, to be kept in a cool cellar (12–14 °C) and away from light.
