Thomas Morey Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos Saint-Jean 2022, from the limestone soils of the Clos Saint-Jean climat. This Chardonnay, barrel-aged, offers a pale yellow robe, aromas of white flowers and citrus, and a mineral, taut palate. Pairings: oysters or chicken with cream.
Heir to a winemaking lineage spanning ten generations, Domaine Thomas Morey cultivates with precision the iconic terroirs of Chassagne-Montrachet, where history and expertise intertwine.
- Terroir : Limestone soils of Clos Saint-Jean, a Premier Cru nestled at the heart of the Rebichets, the birthplace of the great white wines of Burgundy.
- Winemaking : Spontaneous fermentation in oak barrels, aging on fine lees without intervention to preserve the purity of the Chardonnay.
In the eye – Pale yellow robe with green highlights, of silky clarity and chalky brilliance.
On the nose – Aromas of white flowers and toasted brioche intertwine with notes of candied lemon, ripe pear and crisp apple, lifted by a saline and mineral touch.
On the palate – Taut and juicy texture, carried by a precise acidity and a chalky minerality, with a long and elegant finish where citrus and saline tension persist.
Serve between 12 and 14 °C in a Burgundy glass to reveal its complexity.
A vintage marked by generous maturity and preserved freshness, offering an ideal balance between richness and tension.
- Aging potential : To be kept for 10 to 15 years in a cool, humid cellar, away from light.
