A family estate rooted at the heart of Gevrey-Chambertin, where the Burgundian heritage is passed down with exacting standards and respect for the terroir.- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils and marls rich in oyster fossils, the geological signature of the great wines of Burgundy.- Vinification: A biodynamic approach and precise winemaking, producing cuvées that express the purity of Pinot Noir and the minerality of the place.
Tasting notes for Domaine Trapet Gevrey-Chambertin Ostrea 1993
To the eye: A garnet robe with tawny highlights, of a silky texture and chalky density that heralds its elegant maturity.
On the nose: Aromas of ripe morello cherry, damp undergrowth, soft liquorice and forest mushroom, lifted by a saline note reminiscent of its fossiliferous terroir.
On the palate: A lively and precise attack, smooth but still present tannins, a chalky minerality that carries a long and slightly spiced finish, where black cherry and tobacco notes intertwine.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
